Updated 26-27 School Calendar (Monthly Delayed Start)

Posted Date: 04/17/26 (04:30 PM)

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At the April 13th School Board meeting, a new initiative was approved to further enhance the safety, technology, and instructional quality of our schools. Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, our district will implement a monthly 2-hour delayed start for students to provide dedicated professional development time for our staff.

Why are we doing this?

This dedicated time allows our teachers and staff to:

  • Enhance School Safety: Conduct regular, hands-on safety drills with all staff and review policies/procedures.

  • Improve Student Outcomes: Collaborate across grade levels on literacy and data-driven instruction.

The Schedule at a Glance

These 2-hour delays will occur on the first Monday of each month, with an adjustment for September to accommodate the Labor Day holiday.  See the attached calendar.

Scheduled Dates for 2026–2027:

  • September 14, 2026 (Second Monday due to Labor Day)

  • October 5, 2026

  • November 2, 2026
